DISPARATE CHEMICALS/MATERIAL TRANSMISSION

Group exhibition Ruderal 1 at SE23, London, on public grassland, 2025

This land is not only a physical threshold between houses. It is a space that blurs the boundaries between public and private, exposed and sheltered, man-made and natural. It resists definition and categorisation.

Inspired by this inbetween-ness, these works imagine collaborations between the life, earth and detritus that exist here. The sculptures use grass and unused construction sand from the plot, as well as old technological parts and DIY sonic electronic components such as a radio and speakers. Sound is used to explore communication across the human and non-human, analog and digital.
